Step back into the 1950s with Omnitech, where the promise of the deep was just beginning. This risograph-printed manual—complete with field notes, official ID credentials, and pull-out maps—was once part of a routine deep-sea research project. Each page is a snapshot of a time when the ocean was still a frontier of possibility, half science, half myth. The diver's ID card, now a relic, serves as a quiet reminder of where analog dreams met the harsh realities of the deep.

The name Walter H. Mercer appears throughout the recovered Omnitech materials. His identification card is one of the few personal records that remain.
Issued in 1949, Mercer’s diving certification provides a rare record of his role within Omnitech. What became of him is unknown.
